Fixed Beamformer Designs Using PEVD
In this work, we propose the design of fixed beamformers using the PEVD. Since the polynomial matrix captures the space, time and frequency correlations simultaneously and the PEVD aims to decorrelate them, we use spatially and temporally white Gaussian sources for the spatial filter designs. The learnt (fixed) filters are then used at test time in a different acoustic environment and perform comparably with well-known adaptive beamformers such as MVDR and LCMV.
